Stem Cards respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is stored when you use Stem Cards, an iOS app for learning English word roots with visual flashcards and quizzes. Stem Cards does not require an account.
1. Learning Data Stored by the App
Stem Cards stores the information you create in the app, including which roots you have studied, quiz results, mastery levels, streaks, study dates, and app settings. This information is stored on your device using Core Data. It is not synced to iCloud, and no separate server receives your learning data.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. How Information Is Used
Your learning data is used only to provide the app's features: tracking your progress, showing mastery levels and streaks, and letting you pick up your study where you left off.
3. Advertising
The free version of Stem Cards displays ads provided by Google AdMob, shown as interstitials after practice decks and quizzes. Google may process information such as your IP address, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic information to provide, measure, and improve advertising, subject to Google's privacy policies and your Apple device settings.
If you purchase Stem Cards Pro, Stem Cards will no longer display these ads.
4. Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment-card details. Stem Cards uses RevenueCat to help confirm the Pro entitlement; RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier and purchase-related information needed to provide that service.
5. Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information only to read and respond to your support request.
6. Data Storage, Security, and Control
Your learning data stays on your device. You can review and reset your progress in the app, and deleting the app removes the data stored on your device, since there is no cloud copy.
7. Children's Privacy
Stem Cards is intended for general audiences, including students learning English vocabulary. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. A parent or guardian with questions about a child's use of the app may contact us.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
