Why I built this

To bring my health back on track, I cleaned up my diet and started a workout regimen. However, the scale changes were confusing to me because of the fluctuations.

Then I started to chart my weight data and found a correlation between cycle phases and weight. As I dug more into research, I learned that our women's bodies indeed change along with the cycle's progress. It's an amazing thing!

So I built this app to track my weight, so I wouldn't be freaked out when my weight gains 1 lb per day. I can also have a better view of my weight management.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is HerWeigh an alternative to MyFitnessPal?
Yes, for women who want simple, focused weight tracking. Unlike MyFitnessPal's broad approach to calorie counting and fitness logging, HerWeigh focuses specifically on weight trends and how they relate to your menstrual cycle — helping you understand your body without the complexity.
Why track weight every day?
Daily weigh-ins reveal long-term trends and reduce the emotional impact of individual fluctuations. HerWeigh's cycle-aware view makes daily data even more meaningful by showing how your weight naturally shifts throughout your cycle, so a 1–2 lb gain no longer feels alarming.
Is HerWeigh designed for women?
Yes. HerWeigh was built specifically for women, incorporating menstrual cycle phases into weight tracking so you can understand natural hormonal fluctuations rather than fixating on a single daily number.
Can HerWeigh help with intermittent fasting?
HerWeigh complements fasting by giving you clear weight trend data to see how your body responds over time. Many users combine weight tracking with fasting practices to better understand their progress without obsessing over individual weigh-ins.
Why does my weight fluctuate every day?
Daily weight fluctuations are completely normal and typically driven by water retention (fluid shifts), salt intake (sodium causes water holding), menstrual cycles (luteal phase hormone changes), digestion (the weight of digested food/liquids), and exercise recovery (muscle healing). HerWeigh helps you see the bigger picture by focusing on trends rather than daily noise.
